European Green Cities ApS was founded in August 2006 to continue main project
activities for Sustainable Urban Housing within former Green City Denmark’s
Copenhagen office.
Mainly because of the new municipal reform in Denmark, which stopped the yearly economic contributions from a number of municipalities and regional authorities. Green City Denmark stopped activities in the beginning of 2006.
European Green Cities will continue initiatives related to the previous many years of cooperation to Danish and European cities as well as the building and energy supply sectors for these cities. Main cooperation partners will be The Danish Association of Sustainable Cities and Building, European Green Cities Network and new established city networks.
Among main issues will be follow-up cooperation about the European Building Energy Directive and the similar ongoing EU directive work for Sustainable City development.
