Use of solar water technology for public building

Solar collectors are used to prepare hot water for hospital purposes.

The hospital building E1, which is modernised, uses 18 m3 of hot water every day.

The energy audit elaborated by NAPE showed, that the optimal economic and energy efficient installation would be to install 75 solar collectors, with 234.8 m2. This would allow reducing the demand for energy for hot water preparation from the central system about 45% - from 1127 to 620 GJ/year.

The Viessmann collectors VITOSOL 100, type 2,5 W were chosen.

The achieved and monitored values were very similar, the total consumption was 1221 GJ, of which 481 GJ were produced by the solar collector.
