Energy concept

The buildings are very well insulated.

  U-value W/m2K
Extern wall 0.18 - 0.26
Roof 0.12 - 0.16
Window / glass 0.9 / 0.7

The total energy use of the buildings is calculated with: 33 W/m²BGF (LEK value of 21-22).

On the roofs 380 m² solar panels are mounted - used for domestic hot water and additional input in the heating system.

The heating is a biomass district heating system. Two 150 kW wood-pellets-heaters heat the water in a 40 m³ puffer tank. This is situated as an own building in front of one house.

Each dwelling has a controlled air-ventilation system with heat recovery.

In a special research program the SIR (Salzburger Institut für Raumordnung und Wohnen) in Salzburg measures four dwellings exactly from the energy-consumption, air-quality and the different temperatures.

To use the modern technology and optimize the indoor quality and energy consumption all tenants have got a special brochure about the heating and air-ventilation system. On two information evenings interested people were informed about the technique and how to optimize the energy use and energy saving in a household. Interested tenants could visit the solar panels on the roof and the heating room in the cellar.
