The project involves 11 low energy demonstration projects in 9 EU countries with a total of 645 dwellings involved.

The objective was to introduce an integrated sustainable global solar low energy design using best available technologies in new build and retrofil building projects based on energy and environmental assessment together with a total energy and economy approach.

Subjects:

  • Evaluating low-energy technologies
  • Disseminating knowledge to promote more low-energy house building in European cities
  • Training of involved key-persons from builders and city administrations
  • Energy and environmental monitoring and assessments

The European Green Cities project was supported by the EU-Thermie programme.
